Varun is a student, researcher, dreamer, entrepreneur based out of Helsinki, Finland. He’s passionate about mobile technology especially multimedia communication and streaming. With the emergence of P2P has lead to increased usage of Video communication all across the web (Skype, SIP…) and social media apps like GMail, Facebook – this area is starting to become exciting and super-competitive :). Also new emerging trends in Flash Video, IPTV and PPSP (Peer-to-Peer Streaming Protocol, bit-torrent like protocol for sharing of videos) only show an increased consumption of multimedia content.

I’m hoping that this trend will be further accelerated by the coming of age mobile hardware also known as Application Processors with hardware accelerated Multimedia and host of Open[?] Mobile OSes/SDKs (Maemo, Android, Symbian/S60/Qt, iPhone)

• Team Member at Aalto Entrepreneurship Society, (aaltoes)
• working with Prof. Jörg Ott as a Researcher in the field of Multimedia Communication (IVIHUT, AVoW, MoViE, GLASS).
